Forget yelling at your phone — there’s a better way to drop hints
Allison Bantz
We’ve all seen it — that post making the rounds again:
“Pro tip: yell out exactly what you want for Christmas near your partner’s phone and wait for Facebook to send pop-up ads their way.”
And honestly? Not the worst plan. 😂
Because if you’ve ever whispered “cashmere sweater” within 10 feet of your partner’s phone and suddenly found your feed filled with ads for luxury knits — you know Big Tech is listening (and maybe doing a slightly better job at hint-dropping than most of us).
But here’s the thing: wouldn’t it be nice if the people who love you actually knew what to get you — without relying on the algorithm?
That’s what we’re building with HeyDay, launching this February. It’s not about shouting into the void or hoping your partner decodes your digital breadcrumbs — it’s about helping your people actually know you.
HeyDay makes thoughtfulness easier — it keeps track of what matters: your preferences, the big dates, and the small gestures that make connection feel personal. So when your birthday or a random Tuesday rolls around, your people don’t have to guess (or rely on eavesdropping phones).
Until then, keep yelling near your devices if you must… but know that a smarter, more human solution is on its way. 💛
Oh, and by the way — if you really are hoping for that cashmere sweater? This one’s a forever favorite: 👉 Everlane Cashmere Boxy Crew Sweater
HeyDay — connection made easier, more personal, and more human. Coming February 2026.
